Mumford & Sons make their US TV debut on The Late Show with David Letterman, performing their first single, "Little Lion Man."

Mumford & Sons are nominated for Best New Artist and Best Rock Song ("Little Lion Man") at the Grammy Awards. The British folk-rock act don't win any trophies, but their performance of "The Cave" generates a huge buzz and boosts sales of their debut album, Sigh No More, in the US, where it peaks at #2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Marcus Mumford of the British folk-rock band Mumford & Sons marries actress Carey Mulligan, his former childhood penpal, at a farm in Somerset, England. Mumford was previously romantically linked to folk singer-songwriter Laura Marling.

The Disney-Pixar movie Brave debuts in US theaters. The animated film, which follows a bow-and-arrow wielding princess who boldly defies convention in medieval Scotland, features the song "Learn Me Right," a collaboration between Mumford & Sons and Birdy. The tune is nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media in 2013.

Mumford & Sons make their Saturday Night Live debut, performing "I Will Wait" and "Below My Feet" from their second album, Babel. They also appear in a sketch playing a Beatles tribute band called Hey Dude! and perform the 1965 song "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away."

The sports comedy drama Ted Lasso premieres on Apple TV+ with a theme song by Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons. Jason Sudeikis, who portrays the title character, is a longtime friend of the British folk rocker. He even portrayed Mumford in the band's music video for their 2013 single "Hopeless Wanderer."

Mumford & Sons release their sixth studio album, Prizefighter. Produced by The National guitarist Aaron Dessner, the album boasts several collaborations with artists like Hozier on "Rubber Band Man" and Gracie Abrams on "Badlands."
